ZTE Provides VAS to Telenor; Signs Deal with Ukrtelecom

ZTE announced on May 5, 2011 that the company has been selected by Telenor Norway, Telenor Sweden, and Telenor Denmark as the VAS (Value Added Service) supplier, according to a press release by ZTE. As per the contracts, ZTE is projected to replace and expand the existing voicemail, SMS (Short Message Service), MMS (Multimedia Messaging System) location based services, and WAP (Wireless Application Protocol) gateway platforms. It is reported that ZTE will upgrade the platforms to an integrated platform that is able to share hardware and capacity resources with the company's iVAS (integrated VAS).

In related news, ZTE announced on May 11, 2011 that Ukrtelecom of Ukraine has decided to adopt ZTE's home gateway products, according to a press release by ZTE. It is reported that broadband and IPTV (Internet Protocol Television) services are also included in the deal.
